Due to the specific restrictions of the industry, annealing and the printing of pharmaceutical glass places high demands on the heating systems.
The heating system should enable the glass products to be exposed as uniformly as possible over a wide area with a high degree of efficiency in order to be able to reproduce the required temperature curves.
In addition to testing modern materials in the combustion chamber, the main tasks in this project included generating a radiation source in order to be able to convert the heating energy into radiation energy. Furthermore, ideal flow conditions were investigated and control mechanisms were developed to adapt the burner output to the heat demand.
With the help of the research project, corresponding surface burners were developed and brought to market.
